MIC will feature 60 per cent new candidates in the next general election, said MIC president Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam.
He said the new faces would comprise youths, women and seasoned politicians.
"We have made this change to ensure victory for Barisan Nasional in the next general election, especially in the states of Kedah, Penang, Perak and Selangor," he said.
He was speaking to reporters after the launching event of the Education and Welfare Fund organised by MIC Taman Muzaffar Shah, Ayer Keroh, near here, last night.
Also present at the ceremony were Bukit Katil UMNO division chief Tan Sri Mohd Ali Rustam and Melaka MIC president Datuk M.S. Mahadevan. -- Bernama
