Misuse of Constitutional expert, Professor Datuk Dr Shad Saleem Faruqi's name: Astro AWANI apologises for oversight

KUALA LUMPUR:Astro AWANI would like to apologise on the publication of two articles, ‘Tindakan Ku Li Kembalikan Asas Negara Tepat Pada Masa’ and ‘Ku Li Has Always Held True, Tries to Bring the Country Back to its Founding Principles; – Shad Faruqi (written in bahasa Melayu and English, respectively) – which were written without the authenticity of the source.

The articles, which were published on Thursday (Oct 15, 2020) were not written by the esteemed Professor Datuk Dr Shad Saleem Faruqi and that they were produced without his consent.

Astro AWANI also admitted that the oversight should have not happened as the articles were written without his verification.

The content in the articles were not opinions or views by Professor Datuk Dr Shad Saleem Faruqi and that they were unethically produced, which had led to an apparent oversight from Astro AWANI editorial team.

This is due to a misunderstanding between Astro AWANI and the office of the Gua Musang Member of Parliament, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah and it must be reiterated that the views and information in the article belonged to persons other than Professor Shad.

Astro AWANI would like to apologise to Professor Datuk Dr Shad Saleem Faruqi and we will ensure that this will not recur in the future.
