PAS vice president Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah will be defending his post when the party holds its polls later this month.
He said that whether he won or lost did not matter as he deemed the party's polls to be a friendly contest akin to a friendly football match.
"Naturally in a contest there will be winners and losers," the Kelantan Deputy Menteri Besar told reporters after the weekly state executive council meeting here today.
In the fray are incumbents Bukit Gantang MP Idris Ahmad and Selangor senior state executive councillor Datuk Iskandar Abdul Samad PAS Information chief while others coveting the posts are Temerloh MP Nasruddin Hassan and PAS secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan, who is also Kota Bharu MP.
Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang and Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man retained the president and deputy posts as there were no challengers.
The party polls will be held during its 63rd general assembly which will be held in Kedah. -- Bernama
