More Barisan Nasional members of Parliament have come forward to deny their alleged involvement in the conspiracy to topple the government, as being rumoured on social media since Monday.
Parit Sulong MP Datuk Noraini Ahmad said such allegation which had also linked her name is seditious in nature and irresponsible.
Noraini said such allegation cannot be treated lightly as it is a serious matter.
In an interview with BNBBC.my, Noraini said she has been a BN person for a long time and said Parit Sulong is a stable seat because of the contributions by BN all these years.
"So, it is not logical to say I want to destroy all that," she said in the interview.
Meanwhile, deputy Home Minister Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed also denied any involvement in the plot to topple the government, The Star Online reported.
Such allegations are only aimed at creating rifts within the party and distract UMNO from fighting the Opposition, the Pulai MP said.
The former Public Accounts Committee (PAC) member said the current political situation is also to be blamed for such rumours.
"Until the issue with the Prime Minister is resolved, such allegations will go on," he said.
Noraini and Nur Jazlan are the sixth and seveth BN Mps who have come forward to deny being part of the plot to topple the government.
Earlier, Datuk Bung Moktar Radin (Kinabatangan), Datuk Abdul Rahim Bakri (Kudat), Normala Abdul Samad (Pasir Gudang), Datuk Hasbullah Osman (Gerik) and Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim (Arau) have denied being part of the plan.
More BN MPs are expected to come forward to state their stand over the issue.
On Saturday, Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi revealed of attempts to topple the government by a ‘certain leader’ from the governing party (UMNO).
He also exposed an alleged plot to coax 37 MPs from BN, 87 from the opposition and an Independent member so that a motion of no-confidence could be tabled against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak after tabling Budget 2016 in October.
He however denied former Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was involved in the plot to topple the government.
Yesterday, Pengerang MP Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said has called on all BN MPs to make a public declaration to show their loyalty to the party.
Azalina who is also a Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, said this will put a stop to all speculations and problems that have surfaced of late.
