Embattled UMNO deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has a right to say what he thinks, said UMNO veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah.
"He is free to do what he likes according to his own thinking. Whether his actions are right or wrong it is for others to judge," said Razaleigh when met at Parliament lobby today.
"As far as Muhyiddin is concerned, his actions could only be judged by the UMNO disciplinary committee," he added.
When asked of his opinion about talking out against the party leadership, Razaleigh said that it is not right to think certain matters should be confined to a selected few.
"This is an open society. Not only Malaysia but the world.
"Whatever I said now could go viral the next minute. You cannot presume what has been discussed can only be confined to a few" said Razaleigh, who is also the Gua Musang MP.
Muhyiddin at a dialogue session titled ‘Berani Kerana Benar’ had said that he is not an enemy within UMNO.
The Pagoh Member of Parliament defended his actions of speaking up whenever something is wrong in UMNO , as a manifestation of his love for the party.
"We're dealing with a problem and I'm not willing (to be silent) because I love UMNO," he said when answering questions at the dialogue session.
