Mukhriz will not attend BN assemblymen and Kedah Regency Council meeting

Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Tun Mahathir has confirmed that he will not attend the Barisan Nasional assemblymen with the Kedah Regency Council today.

Mukhriz said he will be carrying out his usual routine by going to the office today.

The meeting between the BN assemblymen and members of the Kedah royal house will be held at Wisma Darulaman in Alor Setar at 2pm.

“The meeting is not with me, but involves the assemblymen and members of the Keday royal house. I assume there are questions that the council would like to ask the assemblymen to seek the truth if the latter have their own opinions about the press conference on January 20.

“I don’t think so, if I were to attend (it) and meet in person, I will not be at my office where the interview took place,” Mukhriz told reporters at the Sultan Abdul Halim Airport in Kepala Batas, Sunday.

When prodded on whether an announcement will be made on the replacement of Menteri Besar after the meeting tomorrow, he said he has been notified but refused to comment further on the matter.

“I don’t know, there are so many allegations and I don’t know which one to believe. You have to ask the palace, I can’t speak on behalf of the palace … I have been informed but I can’t say anything,” said Mukhriz.

Mukhriz, who arrived at 7.50pm was welcomed by his strong supporters who arrived at the airport since early evening, Sunday.
