Muktamar: PAS willing to cooperate with all for the sake of Islam - Abdul Hadi

PAS is prepared to cooperate with any quarters for the interest of Islam and Muslims, said party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang today.

The cooperation is not limited to Umno only, he said at the party's 62nd annual conference or Muktamar held at the Pusat Tarbiah Islam Kelantan (PUTIK) here.

"As long as the cooperation benefits Islam, PAS is willing to work together. Not only with Umno, but with all who wish to bring goodness to Muslims," he said in his presidential address.

Therefore, he said, there exists a need for the party to be the third force in the country's political arena.

"The political situation in the country now suggests, it is either black or white.

"The government will continue to defend all its actions while the opposition will consistently object to everything, although sometimes what the government do is good," said Abdul Hadi.

So, he said, it is time for this old political culture to be replaced with a new one.

"PAS would like to practise a political culture which is matured and peaceful for the interest of the people," he said on the second day of the three-day muktamar which started yesterday.
