MyPPP eyeing five seats in GE14 - Kayveas

The People's Progressive Party (MyPPP) is eyeing one parliamentary and four state seats in the next general election, said party president Tan Sri M. Kayveas.
Kayveas when met here today said MyPPP have already identified the seats the party wished to contest, however, he refused to elaborate further on the seats the party intends to contest.
"In the last general election, we (MyPPP) contested one parliamentary seat and four states seats," he told reporters on the sidelines of the Federal Territory Ponggal Festival 2017, here yesterday.
"This time around, we have identified the seats and are positive that we will deliver for Barisan Nasional come the 14th General Election."
Kayveas also stated that the party was already going down to the grounds and identifying themselves with possible voters.
During the 13th general election in 2013, MyPPP lost the Kepong parliamentary seat as well as the Kota Laksamana (Melaka), Pasir Bedamar (Perak), Kota Alam Shah (Selangor) and Guchil (Kelantan), state seats.
When asked on the possibility of the GE14 being called this year, Kayveas said that some 3,900 MyPPP branches will conclude their meetings by end of this month.
"We were not focused on the election at that time when the branches were asked to hold their meetings. We want them to hold their meetings quickly to allow the 122 divisions to convene their meetings by April," he added.
Asked when the state and national meetings were expected to be completed, he said it would be between June and August this year.
Earlier, Kayveas participated in a ceremony to boil the Ponggal sweetened rice during the Ponggal Festival held along Jalan Bunus, Masjid India.
