UMNO President Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak today chaired the UMNO Supreme Council decisive meeting at the party headquarters here Friday.
The meeting is expected to deliberate on the fate of the party deputy president, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Muhyiddin was nowhere to be seen as UMNO Supreme Council members started arriving at the Putra World Trade Centre here at 4pm.
A press conference is expected to take place at 6.30pm. Prior to this, UMNO Supreme Council member, Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz has cautioned Muhyiddin about making any threatening statements towards UMNO leadership, instead to wait for the verdict of the UMNO council meeting today.
Mohamed Nazri had earlier adviced Muhyiddin on his statement towards UMNO secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Mansor that the council has the power to bypass the disciplinary committee unless there is concrete evidence.
Earlier, UMNO vice president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi launched ‘Najib Razak Kembara Politik – 40 Tahun’ at the Menara Dato Onn lobby.
The book, published by the Multimedia Communication Ministry of Malaysia highlights Najib’s 40-year political journey starting as Pekan member of parliament in 1976 when he was 22.
