DAP advisor, Lim Kit Siang described the lyrics to the song ‘After The Rain’ sung by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s daughter, Najwa as 'the voice of a new generation' - aiming for a political change in the country.
“(From the lyrics) My advice is that we must fight and live not only for one person, one race or one religion but to save Malaysia,” said Kit Siang in his speech at the Gerakan Harapan Baru (GHB) event in Taman Universiti here today.
He said the words ‘after the rain comes the sun’ can also refer to the current political situation in Malaysia especially after the dismissal of Muhyiddin from the Cabinet.
“After the rain we wait for the storm. After that, we are willing and brave to stand... in order to save not only Muhyiddin, not only UMNO but Malaysia,” he said.
He added that this was the struggle Pakatan Rakyat and GHB aim to fight for as a new party.
“If established, it is time for the new Pakatan Rakyat to bring change to Johor and Malaysia,” he stressed.
Apart from state leaders from the Opposition and GHB central committee members, the event was also attended by several prominent professionals from Johor.
