Nenggiri state seat vacant after incumbent declared bankrupt

The Kelantan State Assembly Speaker today declared that the Nenggiri state seat is vacant.

According to media reports, the seat was vacant after its incumbent Mat Yusoff Abdul Ghani became a bankrupt.

The reports said the matter was confirmed in a letter received by by Datuk Abdullah Ya'kub from the Selangor Insolvency Department on May 28.

Abdullah had said that the state legal adviser also received a similar letter on May 21.

He added that he would be sending a letter to the Kelantan Election Commission (EC) Kelantan on Sunday to inform them of the matter and said the EC will decide if a by-election (PRK) will be held in the area.
