No element of cheating in election of youth parliamentarians - Khairy

Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said there was no proof (for the claims) nor was a police report made about them.

"The election was mostly conducted online and had in fact been given the international audit certificate," he told reporters after presenting the certificate of appointment to the Youth Parliamentarians here today.

Prior to this, there had been reports of claims about cheating in the election of the PBM, resulting in a delay of nominated candidates and voting.

The Youth Parliament was an initiative announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak about two years ago to train and create a second line of young leaders with calibre and integrity to met the needs of the nation today and in the future.

On the same issue, Khairy said January 10 had been chosen as the date of the sitting for PBM members in the Dewan Rakyat for five days, with this session to be held three times a year.

He said besides the sitting, PBM members would also hold programmes in their own home states depending on the committees they were in such as education, social and others.
