'No political cooperation yet between UMNO and Pas' - Hishammuddin

The cooperation between UMNO and Pas only involved matters related to Islam, said UMNO vice president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein.

"We will wait first," he said, following a question from the media on the possibility of a political cooperation between the two parties.

Hishammuddin, however said that there should be limits when it comes to politics.

"This is important especially in matters involving security, Islam as well as the Malays. I believe the time has come for us to forsake political considerations in favour of a more significant agenda," said Hishammuddin when met at the Innovation Day celebration for the Ministry of Defence held here today.

He also hoped that the developments are prove of the country's political maturity.

"However, the most important thing is ensuring UMNO's strength. We must make sure that the leaders within the party does not quarrel with one another," he concluded.
