Nomination opens at 9am for Kuala Kangsar by-election
According to the electoral rolls updated as of May 7, a total of 32,949 voters are eligible to cast their ballots in the by-election.
Nomination for the Kuala Kangsar parliamentary by-election opened at 9am today at Dewan Jubli Perak Kuala Kangsar.
Returning officer Mior Muhammad Jamil Mior Zakaria said the centre would be open for an hour.
"The names of the candidates contesting the by-election will be announced between 10.15am and 10.30am," he told Bernama.
The by-election is being held following the death of the MP, Datuk Wan Mohammad Khair-il Anuar Wan Ahmad, in a helicopter crash in Sarawak on May 5.
According to the electoral rolls updated as of May 7, a total of 32,949 voters are eligible to cast their ballots in the by-election.
In the 13th general election, in 2013, Wan Mohammad Khair-il Anuar won the seat with a 1,082-vote majority, defeating Khalil Idham Lim Abdullah of PAS and Independent candidate Datuk Kamilia Ibrahim.
Polling for the by-election is on June 18.
