Opening of Perak State Assembly sitting goes smoothly

The first meeting of the third term of the 13th Perak State Legislative Assembly went smoothly with the opening ceremony held at the grounds of the Perak Darul Ridzuan building this morning.

The ceremony started at about 9.30 am with the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah inspecting the guard-of-honour mounted by the General Operations Force (GOF).

Earlier, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir and all State Assemblymen (ADUN) from the Barisan Nasional, Independent and the opposition pact of DAP-Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR)-PAS, started arriving at 8.50 am and waited at their respective place.

Twenty-six opposition assemblymen arrived in groups in their black attire as a sign of protest on various matters.

The ceremony continued with the opening speech delivered by Sultan Nazrin at the assembly hall.
