The divided and disunited opposition front will only give an advantage for Barisan Nasional (BN) in any election including the upcoming by-elections in Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar, says former prime minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
He said this can be seen in the recently concluded Sarawak State Election where the opposition won only 10 seats out of 82 seats, with DAP won seven seats and PKR three seats, BH Online reported.
“The opposition will never win if they are still divided, the very reason they lost in Sarawak.
“Hence, the opposition will always lose and BN will always win,” he said at the launch of the Sultan Abdul Halim Centennial Hall of Sultan Abdul Hamid College by the Kedah Regency Council chairman Tan Sri Tunku Sallehhuddin Sultan Badlishah here today.
Also present were Puan Seri Tengku Maliha Tengku Ariff, Kedah Regency Council members Tan Sri Tunku Puteri Intan Shafinaz Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah and Tunku Laksamana of Kedah Tan Sri Tunku Abdul Hamid Thani and Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah.
