Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) has officially signed an agreement to work together with Pakatan Harapan in preparations to face the next general elections.
However, the cooperation does not include PPBM joining Pakatan Harapan.
The agreement was signed by the three component party leaders in Pakatan Harapan as well as PPBM President, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin at the PKR headquarters in Petaling Jaya today.
When asked why PPBM did not join harapan as a component party, opposition leader Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail says the agreement is the first step.
“We are only working together. Coalition is just a formality but at the moment, we have already work together, all those years. Today we have new kid on the block we have Bersatu.
“It's part of the beginning of coming together. This is our ‘Perjanjian’ we are going to work together but we have to win the election first,” she said.
The main crux of the agreement focuses on all four parties efforts to ensure one-on-one battles against Barisan Nasional (BN) for every seat, be it parliamentary or state level.
A technical committee will also be formed consisting of representatives from all parties in order to discuss seat allocations and common manifesto.
