Palanivel's Ministerial position to be decided soon - Najib
Najib said the party should solve its affairs internally by its leaders.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said MIC president Datuk Seri G. Palanivel's position as a Cabinet minister will be decided soon.
Speaking about the MIC crisis after chairing the UMNO supreme council meeting, Najib said the party should solve its affairs internally by its leaders.
"In the issue of MIC, we do not have a choice. I will accept the court's decision," he said.
"Palanivel's position as a Cabinet Minister will be decided soon. Right now, I want MIC to decide on their leadership," he added.
A letter from the Registrar of Societies (RoS) released Thursday stated that Palanivel, who is also Natural Resources and Environmnet Minister, lost his party membership under Article 91 of the MIC constitution.
Palanivel, however, told media that he was still party president as he 'has yet to receive the letter'.

The MIC crisis erupted following differences in opinion between Palanivel and his deputy Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam following a notice issued by the RoS last Dec 5 directing the party to hold fresh elections for the three vice-presidential and 23 CWC posts.
The RoS had nullified the elections held in November 2013 following complaints of irregularities.
