PAS will wait for the full report from Sabah PAS to mobilise any machinery in preparation for the upcoming state election (PRN) said its vice-president Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah.
He said that the report would be submitted by Sabah PAS in the middle of this month for the party to make any decision related to the state election.
"The final decision must be decided at the central level and for that we will wait for the report and views of Sabah PAS.
"I believe PAS will contest but we will determine the total number of seats later," he told reporters after officiating the 'Kelantan Ku Bersih' programme at the Pengkalan Datu morning market here today.
Mohd Amar said that only after PAS at the central level decides to contest then it will start coordinating with other parties at the Muafakat Nasional level.
Earlier, Sabah PAS commissioner Mohd Aminuddin Aling said that it had identified potential seats to contest and would consult with allies in the Barisan Nasional (BN).
The Sabah Legislative Assembly was dissolved on July 30 to pave way for a state election which has to be held before Sept 29.
In the 14th General Election (GE14), a total of 60 state seats were contested but in July last year, the Dewan Rakyat approved a bill to increase the number of seats in Sabah state assembly to 73.
Meanwhile, Mohd Amar said PAS had dropped the matter involving the content of the bai'ah (oath of allegiance) of 'talak tiga' divorce clause for the party's candidates who will contest in the GE15.
He also said that at the same time, bai'ah (the oath of allegiance) must be present in the party to ensure loyalty and leadership.
"This matter has been clarified by the party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang," he said.
