MOHD AMAR: PAS will not join BN. We are now once bitten twice shy.
PAS vice-president, Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah stressed that PAS is still haunted by its past when the Islamist party was expelled from Parti Perikatan in 1977.
As such, he reiterated PAS' stand that there is no need for the party to join forces with Barisan Nasional (BN).
“PAS will not join BN. We are now once bitten twice shy,” Mohd Amar said to reporters in Nilam Puri on Sunday.
However, Mohd Amar said he will leave PAS’ political future to the Ulama Syura Council.
Mohd Amar, who is also Kelantan deputy Menteri Besar, was commenting on whether PAS will remain in the opposition pact or whether it will cooperate with BN.
At the same time he said, PAS is ready for the possibility of it ending ties with PKR and the latter join forces with Gerakan Harapan Baru (GHB) and DAP in the future.
