PAS Central Committee uninformed of the change in MB candidate's name

PAS Vice President, Muhammad Sabu, said that the decision to submit a member of the PAS State Legislative Assembly’s name as the candidate for Selangor MB along with two other PKR State Legislative Assembly members was not brought to the attention of the PAS Central Committee.

According to Sabu based on the PAS central committee meeting on August 17, a unanimous decision was made to enlist PKR President, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and her vice president as Mohamed Azmin Ali.

“The latest development in the Selangor MB candidate issue will definitely trigger various responses and negative perceptions especially on PAS and in general on PKR.”

“I would like to stress, the announcement made by PAS secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali yesterday (4 Sept) as reported by different media agencies that Dr. Wan Azizah and Azmin were not on the PAS candidate name list, is something that I am not aware of.”

“The report also mentioned that the PAS Secretary General has admitted to wrongfully enlisting a PAS EXCO member as the MB candidate.

“We, the PAS Central Committee, are not aware of this new name as it was not decided during PAS central committe meeting as the Executive Body that handles the party’s daily strategic management and operations,” he said in a media statement released today.
