PAS has closed the door on negotiations with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) after the latter officially joined Pakatan Harapan on Monday.
PAS vice-president Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah said this was in line with its terms that any political party wanting to cooperate with the Islamist party should not establish ties with its rivals, namely DAP and Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah).
"...consider the door is closed. This is the party's (PAS) stand, it's indeed clear from the beginning," he told reporters after attending the Kelantan State Legislative Assembly sitting at the Kota Darul Naim Complex here Tuesday.
On Monday, Pakatan Harapan unanimously accepted PPBM as its latest member of the coalition after the decision was made at a Pakatan Harapan presidential council meeting.
On the meeting between PAS and PPBM prior to this, Mohd Amar said it was only centered on the views of PAS on several matters.
"We were just discussing before this, there was no real negotiation. We were discussing ideas, issues...that's all.
"Not to a point of something serious or conclusive...when they (PPBM) became official (on joining Pakatan Harapan), then we're done here," he said. -- Bernama
