A group of Pas members and supporters today gathered to show their support for the decision of party president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang in cutting ties with DAP.
A spokesman for the group, Azmi Man, who is a Kepala Batas Pas member, said Abdul Hadi had made a rational decision in making sure that DAP and its allies did not continue to ridicule PAS.
"We gathered today to show our support for the statement by the Pas president who did not want to have anything to do with parties linked to DAP as they are seen as trying to interfere with matters relating to Muslims, especially on the issue of the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act," he said to reporters.
About 50 PAS members and supporters took part in the peaceful assembly in front of Masjid Jamiul Badawi after Friday prayers.
The participants also held up banners condemning DAP during the demonstration which lasted about 10 minutes. - BERNAMA
