PAS is not convinced that the Penang DAP-led government will hold a snap election despite reports saying Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng is only waiting for the greenlight from its Pakatan Harapan allies.
PAS election director Datuk Mustafa Ali said based on an analysis and information received by the party, the state election was not going to happen as there was no consensus even among the DAP leadership.
"It was also not unanimously agreed by Pakatan Harapan leaders, so even with strong rumours going on, PAS is not convinced. Furthermore the proposal to hold the state election was only made after Guan Eng's alleged misconduct, before that nothing was said about the election," he told reporters at the Penang PAS Open House held at Pongsu Seribu here Sunday.
Mustafa however, said that PAS was always prepared to face all possibilities and would determine the next course of action once the state legislative assembly was dissolved.
He also described Lim, who is also DAP secretary-general, as indecisive in his stand since his statements were often inconsistent.
