Pas postpones 'muktamar' to after GE15

KOTA BHARU: The 67th Muktamar (general assembly) of PAS will be held after the 15th general election (GE15).

Its secretary -general, Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, said the postponement of the muktamar, including the party election, was decided in a PAS leadership meeting to focus on the general election.

"Pas has decided that the muktamar will be held after GE15, no matter when.

"So far, we don't even know when the GE will be.

"The expectation of the GE will be held when the emergency is over, takes into account the expectation of the muktamar after GE15," he said.

Takiyuddin explained that the decision made by the party so far is to postpone the muktamar until after GE15 is over.

Last year's muktamar was held in September with Kelantan as the host.

It was held in an atmosphere of new norms as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic by limiting the presence of observers, delegates and PAS leaders nationwide.
