PAS willing to cooperate with BN on national unity issues

PAS is willing to cooperate with Barisan National on issues affecting national and Muslim unity, said its secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan.

He said this was in line with the new concept of mature political culture in helping to address major issues such as the reported Rohingya atrocities by the Myanmar government.

"We have a mutual understanding and cooperation with the BN to work together in resolving the Rohingya issue," he told reporters when met at a dialogue session held in conjuction with the national-level International Anti-Corruption Day here Friday.

However, in answering questions from reporters, Takiyuddin stressed that PAS never had any political cooperation with UMNO.

"We have never declared or made any decision on collaborating with UMNO (on political grounds) but we continue to cooperate on other aspects," he said. -- BERNAMA
