PAU the best stage for grassroots to state a stand

Kulai UMNO Youth Chief, Mohd Kamal Ulum Morsin, said there were some UMNO grassroots who stated their stance to reject cooperation with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) in the 15th General Election (GE15).

"The grassroots reject cooperation with PPBM in GE15 and we support Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as Prime Minister until GE15 only," he explained.

Meanwhile, Kulai UMNO Puteri Chief, Nina Rozeyantee Abu Sahir, said the spirit of UMNO members, especially the grassroots, would be weakened if DAP was made the party's political partner.

"The stand of Kulai Puteri is we do not support Bersatu or PN and as long as Bersatu still takes the UMNO seats, we will oppose," she said.

The same tone was expressed by Kulai UMNO Puteri Information Chief, Nurul Faizzie Ahmad Arsani.

“Looking at the current political scenario, I think if UMNO wants to work with PN, it should be everyone's decision and not in favour of any party.

"It means a win-win situation.

"I also firmly reject cooperation with Bersatu, especially DAP, because it will further weaken the spirit of UMNO members, especially the grassroots who have been supporting us.

"We do not want a cooperation with DAP. That is my position," she said.

Earlier, UMNO's letter to Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin which stated the party’s stance in rejecting cooperation with Bersatu, was exposed.

According to UMNO Deputy President, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, Bersatu's intention to join Muafakat Nasional (MN) received poor feedback from UMNO members at the grassroots level.
