PCS reiterates will go it alone in state election
Anifah said this is in keeping with the policy of the party not to work with or be affiliated to any party in the state election.
Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS) reiterated today that it will go it alone in the Sabah state election next month.
Party president Datuk Seri Anifah Aman said this is in keeping with the policy of the party not to work with or be affiliated to any party in the state election.
"I would like to thank those who want to work with PCS but we are firm on our stand. We will go it alone and will contest many seats so as to be able to form a government," the former foreign minister said in a statement.
Yesterday, Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi reportedly said that the BN is holding discussions with several parties on the allocation of the 73 seats up for grabs in the state election and mentioned PCS as one of them.
He had also named the Sabah People's Unity Party; Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku Rakyat Sabah (STAR); Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS); Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP).
The Sabah state election is scheduled for Sept 26. Nomination is on Sept 12.
