The DAP-led Penang government is ready to face a no-confidence motion but it has to be tabled by the opposition chief at the state assembly sitting, said Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.
He said the motion should be tabled by state opposition chief Datuk Jahara Hamid and not by others so that it is seen as a motion that was serious.
"We are ready to face a no-confidence motion, but they (those who want it) must decide who would will give the directive...if it gets support, the no-confidence motion can be tabled," he told a press conference here Monday.

He was responding to the call by Penang Gerakan vice head Oh Tong Keong that the Penang government's move to call off snap polls in the state showed that DAP was afraid of PKR, its partner in the Pakatan Harapan pact.
On Sunday, Lim, who is also DAP secretary-general, had announced that the snap polls were a no go because a consensus on it could not be reached among the Pakatan Harapan partners.
The other partner in the pact Parti Amanah Negara was in favour of the snap election. The state assembly term only ends in 2018.
