Pengkalan Kubor: No protest from any contesting party, says EC
The Election Commission (EC) did not receive protests from any of the contesting parties during the Pengkalan Kubor state seat by-election on Thursday.
Pengkalan Kubor returning officer Mohd Sobri Ramli said the by-election was under control and there were no disturbances which affected the voting process.
"We are satisfied with the outcome of the by-election and are thankful to all voters who ensured the voting went smoothly," he told reporters after announcing the official results of the Pengkalan Kubor by-election at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Dato Biji Wangsa here, Thursday night.
He said the by-election was transparent and there was no room for any of the contesting parties to make any protest.
Barisan Nasional (BN) defended the Pengkalan Kubor state seat when its candidate, Mat Razi Mat Ail obtained a majority of 2,635 votes in the by-election.
