Pakatan Harapan chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's claim yesterday that the majority of Dewan Rakyat members were no longer with prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin could cause the people to be disappointed and tired.
Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia (ISMA) president Aminuddin Yahaya in a statement today said the sentiment would arise as the allegations indirectly proved that the people's representatives were so fond of jumping party for power.
"What is certain is that the country will become unstable, investors will be more worried and many will leave from doing business and investing in our country.
"In this pandemic situation that causes the economy to worsen, it will definitely cause the people to suffer more.
"The people hope that the Yang Di-pertuan Agong can do something to restore the peace and political stability of the country to avoid various implications and chaos," he said.
Yesterday, Anwar, who is also the President of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) claimed that he has a strong majority to form a new government in the near future.
In an emergency press conference in Kuala Lumpur, he stressed that at that moment, the government led by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin "had fallen".
However, Muhyiddin in a counter statement said he was still the legitimate prime minister.
The Pagoh Member of Parliament added that if Anwar's allegations were justified, then it must be proven in accordance with the Constitution.
Meanwhile, Aminuddin said if the Dewan Rakyat is dissolved, the people are expected to make preparations and dared to make changes to choose the most credible and principled candidate regardless of party.
