Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) President Mohamad Sabu said today he is willing to bury the hatchet to serve the cause of saving Malaysia.
He said, although he was detained under the Internal Security Act (ISA) during Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s regime, he could still share the same stage with the former Prime Minister.
“We came here today not because of our personal vendetta especially when the religion has taught us to speak nothing but the truth before a vicious leader and not a vicious retiree.
"Why are we bold enough to criticise a retired PM, that is so unmanly,” he said in his speech at the People’s Congress 2016 here today.
Mat Sabu also cited the history of Islam where Imam Syafie, Imam Abu Malik and Abu Hanifah were imprisoned after they criticised leaders who embezzled during that period but they did not criticise Abu Lahab and Abu Jahal who had long gone.
