IPOH: Perak PAS has expressed its commitment to defend the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government in Perak.
This was stated by the Gunung Semanggol State Assemblyman (ADUN) who is also the Perak PAS Commissioner, Razman Zakaria.
He added that the decision was made by the PAS leadership to support the government that has been formed with PAS, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) and UMNO.
"The decision made by the leadership says that so far we have to support our government built together on the consensus of PAS, Bersatu and UMNO.
“And when we had an audience with the Sultan of Perak, we were asked by His Highness to accept any candidate picked.
"So, we have agreed to defend the PN government which we have agreed upon," he said.
In fact, Razman explained, his party had handed over any decision on the establishment of the new Perak state government to the PAS leadership.
"On behalf of PAS, we are waiting for the instruction and decision of the party leadership. We refer and this matter involves national politics," he explained.
He also stressed that the relationship between Pas and UMNO at this time was as usual and PAS adheres to the principle of consensus between the three parties.
"Our relationship is normal. The PAS principle clearly states that we will not be with Bersatu alone without UMNO and we will not be with UMNO without Bersatu, so far that is the principle we bring," Razman added.
