Perak Politics: Three presidents meet, 99.9% of Perak crisis to be resolved today - Ahmad Maslan

He said a positive result would be achieved in a tripartite meeting between Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin who is also the Perikatan Nasional Chairman, Barisan Nasional (BN) Chairman, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and PAS President, Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang in Parliament today.

"The UMNO, PAS and Bersatu presidents are discussing ... 99.9 percent it will be resolved today itself," he told reporters in Parliament on Wednesday.

Ahmad, who is also Pontian Member of Parliament, also shared a picture showing the meeting between the three main leaders.

“I was present (in) discussions (between) Dr Zahid Hamidi (UMNO President) and Tan Sri Annuar Musa (BN Secretary). I had a chat with PAS President, Datuk Seri Tuan Guru Abdul Hadi Awang and PAS secretary-general, Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan.

"I am confident that the three presidents, including Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, have successfully resolved the Perak issue," he said in a tweet on his Twitter page.

Yesterday, Perak Dewan Negara member, Datuk Seri Annuar Zaini said no political party has a simple majority to form a new Perak State Government for now.

The situation, he explained, thus failed to convince the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah to appoint the 14th Menteri Besar of the state.

"Because the Sultan of Perak is still not convinced that any party already has a simple majority and only when His Highness is confident that there is any party that has a simple majority, the swearing-in ceremony can be implemented.
