The Democratic Action Party (DAP) and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) must agree to the implementation of hudud law championed by PAS all along if they do not want to see the opposition splitting up.
PAS vice-president Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said this was because the implementation of hudud law did not involve non-Muslims, especially in Kelantan.
"To avoid PR (Pakatan Rakyat) from splitting up, it is appropriate if DAP and PKR express their consent on the Kelantan Syariah Criminal Enactment because it is a right of Muslims and has nothing to do with non-Muslims," he said in his recent post on social networking site Facebook Sunday.
The PAS-led Kelantan state government is expected to table an amendment to the Syariah Criminal Code (11) Enactment 1993 at its state assembly on Wednesday.
The Kelantan State Assembly will sit from Sunday until Thursday after being adjourned on Dec 29 last year due to the massive floods which struck the state.
The turmoil between PAS and DAP occurred after DAP's Legal Bureau chairman Gobind Singh Deo asked the party to reconsider the amendment.
