Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) leaders and its members have been urged to stop harassing Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim as he continues to serve the community as Bandar Tun Razak MP and Port Klang assemblyman.
According to Khalid’s special officer Faekah Husin, several PKR member from the Bandar Tun Razak branch had wanted Khalid to relinquish his post as MP.
“I urge PKR leaders at all levels, especially at Bandar Tun Razak, to stop their malicious attitude towards Khalid.
“Is it not enough to hurl unfounded accusations at him all this while, followed by his sacking from the party which led him to resign as Selangor MB?
“As if that is not enough, the PKR-led Selangor government then denied any allocation for Port Klang and sacked two officers under his constituency who had contracts with the state government,” she said in a media statement today.
She also said the former Selangor MB had visited Bandar Tun Razak and Port Klang after his two weeks leave to continue serving the people who had elected him through a legitimate electoral process.
“I am thankful that many have offered their assistance and are willing to stand by Khalid in ensuring the welfare of the people.
“People today can see a leader’s sincerity in carrying out his duties.
“He had opened a service centre for the people in Bandar Tun Razak and a new office in Bukit Tinggi,” she said.
Faekah stressed, PKR’s sacking of Khalid has not prevented him from serving the people.
On November 15, Khalid is expected to kick off his ‘Serving the People’ activity – an NGO which will provide food for the local community as a platform for him to meet the people.
Faekah in her statement had also questioned the allegations of misconduct by Khalid which was said to have originated from PKR.
“After having been sacked for nearly two month, no charge or evidence was brought forward by PKR or the authorities. The 20 pages of alleged misconduct by Khalid was simply forgotten after he had been sacked,” she said.
Faekah also touched on the new Selangor MB, Azmin Ali, who recently wanted to speed up the restructuring of the state’s water supply industry and announced the Kinrara-Damansara (Kidex) highway project will be continued as it can help reduce traffic congestion.
“We can still remember among the allegations hurled at Khalid included the water restructuring issue which is said to have ties with Umno and the Kidex project which would benefit Umno lawyers.
“The people are now puzzled how a such big issue can be simply swept under the carpet and all the decisions made by Khalid during his tenure as MB is now being acknowledged by PKR,” she said.
