PKR prepared to cooperate with politicians - Anwar Ibrahim

KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has expressed its readiness to work with any politician for a system free from corruption and abuse of power as well as upholding value politics.
Apart from that, its President, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the party will continue to fight for the reform agenda based on the principles of justice and prosperity for all the people of this country.
"We want to emphasize that any effort to restore the people's mandate must be based on the priority of defending the dignity of the nation and the country without mortgaging the principles of struggle and idealism.
"Alhamdulillah, we managed to save the country from a declaration of state of emergency and again I express gratitude to the concerns of the Malay rulers to defend the constitution from the abuse of government power," said the Member of Parliament for Port Dickson in a statement on Tuesday.
Earlier, on Sunday, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong was of the opinion that there was no need to declare a state of emergency in Malaysia or any part of the country.
Comptroller of the Royal Household of Istana Negara, Datuk Indera Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said His Majesty believed in the ability of the government under the leadership of the Prime Minister to continue to implement policies and actions to fight the Covid-19 epidemic.
His Majesty also reminded politicians to immediately stop all politicking that could disrupt the stability of the country's government.
Elaborating on this, Anwar, who is also Opposition Leader said the reminder and the affirmation of the Malay Rulers regarding the abuse of power and the principle of justice should not be taken lightly.
He further explained that it should be supported by all parties who have awareness in rejecting corruption.
In the same statement, Anwar said the 2021 Budget scheduled to be tabled in November should involve the efforts and roles of both parties (bipartisan).
"That is, the government and the opposition in planning a powerful strategy in tackling the impact of the COVID19 pandemic, unemployment and also the problem of poverty," he said.
