UMNO Puteri chief Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsuddin said the situation was predicted after Anwar was sentenced for five-years for sodomising his former aide, Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan.
“This is expected. From husband to the wife and now the daughter, they will inherit Permatang Pauh and the PKR,” she said when contacted today.
“We do not want to question the age or gender but what is certain, the seat does not belong to Anwar Ibrahim’s family,” she added.
Talks that Nurul Nuha will be contesting the Permatang Pauh seat intensified after the 31-year-old housewife was assigned to lead the ‘March for Freedom’ campaign.
Mas Ermieyati who is also the Masjid Tanah member of Parliament said if that happens, it would prove that PKR is a party that practices cronyism and nepotism.
“This would prove that all that is said about PKR is true. I hope the voters of Permatang Pauh would make a wise decision,” she said.
“PKR is placing Nurul Nuha as the candidate solely for the sympathy votes,” she added.
In the 13th general election, Anwar defeated UMNO’s Mazlan Ismail and Independent Abdullah Zawawi Samsudin with a majority of 11,721 votes.
On Tuesday, the Federal Court found Anwar guilty for sodomising his Mohd Saiful and maintained the Appeals Court’s five year sentence. The decision stripped Anwar from the Permatang Pauh MP seat which he won from 2008.
