PKR unconvinced on Penang snap polls
Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah however said the party will continue discussing with other parties in Pakatan Harapan to find a viable solution to the issue.
Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) is still unconvinced with the proposal by fellow coalition mate DAP on the need for a snap state election in Penang.
Its president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail however said the party will continue discussing with other parties in Pakatan Harapan to find a viable solution to the issue.
Wan Azizah who was met at a special central leadership meeting at the party's headquarters yesterday said PKR has decided to send a delegate comprising of members from its highest leadership to meet DAP representatives to divulge the party's position on the matter.
"We had an extensive discussion tonight (Tuesday) that also took into consideration the opinions of the masses on the call for a state election. Based on that, we feel that the arguments presented are not enough to convince us to support it,"
"However in the spirit of mutual alliance, Keadilan is ever ready to continue the discussion with fellow partners in Pakatan Harapan," she said.
On Monday, Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng pleaded for PKR to support his call for a state election to be held in Penang. As of date, only Amanah has agreed to support the call.
