The Selangor PKR Youth wing (AMK) today stated their stance to fully mobilise the support for the recently launched #RakyatHakimNegara campaign.

AMK vice chief, Mohd Radzlan Jalaluddin said the move was to encourage solidarity and support to Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in his upcoming appeal on his sodomy case on Oct 28 and 29 at the Palace of Justice in Putrajaya.

“Selangor AMK will mobilise all of its members from every branch in the state (on that day),” Mohd Radzlan told newsmen at the party’s headquarters in Petaling Jaya today.

"We will have 300 AMK members as a security squad to maintain crowd safety," he added.

Anwar, 67, was acquitted by the High Court on Jan 9, 2012 for allegedly sodomising Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, his former aide, at Desa Damansara Condominium in Bukit Damansara on June 26, 2008.

However, the Court of Appeal overturned the acquittal and sentenced Anwar to five years in prison for the offence.

Subsequently, the Federal Court had set Oct 28 and 29 to hear cross-appeals of both the defence team and the prosecution.
