Member of Parliament for Shah Alam, Khalid Abdul Samad, has acknowledged that the government formed by the Perikatan Nasional (PN) is legitimate and cannot be disputed.
This, said the Director of Communications of Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah), is because the government was formed under the laws enshrined in the Federal Constitution.
"Don't question the authenticity (of the new government). The term 'backdoor' is not a term that denies the fact that the government is invalid.
“The PN government is legitimate and no one had argued that it is not legal. Only the term 'backdoor' is that this government was formed in an immoral way.
"It was not through the front door where they were elected by the people to form the government," he said at a press conference here on Monday.
The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, had said at the opening ceremony of the 14th session of the 3rd Selangor State Assembly earlier today that the formation of the Federal Government, which was considered a 'backdoor' government or a coup, is baseless and should stop.
