Politicians should prioritise people's interests - Perlis Mufti

KANGAR:Perlis Mufti Datuk Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin has called on politicians to prioritise the interests of the people especially those who are affected by COVID-19.
“It’s pointless for politicians to fight for positions day and night when many people are struggling due to the pandemic.
“My advice to politicians is not to let the people hate them because the situation has changed and the people are now more mature and no longer obsessed with a single political party or leader,” he told Bernama recently.
Mohd Asri said the basis of politics is to look after the interests of all the people especially during the current pandemic adding that politicians should not add the people’s burden with political issues such as power fights.
