'Rafizi's statement a desperate attempt' - Abdul Rahman
ABDUL RAHMAN: The people should not over-react on the allegations made by several individuals who tried to manipulate various issues.
Barisan Nasional (BN) described the statement by Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-president Rafizi Ramli that the support of 25 BN Members of Parliament (MPs) was needed to topple the government via a vote of no confidence as a desperate attempt.
BN Strategic Communications Director, Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan said he perceived Rafizi as an individual who never had any credible argument when facing any particular situation or issue.
"I see it as a desperate attempt by the opposition. In the past, two of the elected representatives from Perak wanted to jump ship and become an Independent member to support us, they had said it was an immoral attempt," he told reporters after opening the delegates meeting of the Jasin UMNO division, today.
He said this when commenting on the statement by Rafizi in a newspaper that the opposition needed the support of at least 25 BN members of Parliament to topple Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak through a vote of no confidence.
Also present were Jasin UMNO division head Datuk Ahmad Hamzah and his deputy Datuk Ghazale Muhamad.
Commenting further, Abdul Rahman, who is also the Minister of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government, said he was not surprised by the statement because Rafizi had previously come out with many weird ideas such as the 'Kajang Move' and the date the government was supposedly toppled on Sept 16, 2008.
On another development, he said the people should not over-react on the allegations made by several individuals who tried to manipulate various issues.
