The DAP candidate for the by-election the Bukit Gelugor parliamentary seat, Ramkarpal Singh Deo, has launched his manifesto, three days before polling day.
But it was Tanjong MP Ng Wei Aik who made all the explanation on the projects to be implemented if Ramkarpal were to win the by-election.
Ramkarpal, the third son of the late Karpal Singh, said after 10 days of campaigning, he had identified six issues which had been included in his manifesto.
"Currently we have three state assemblymen from the DAP and if I am elected, I can assure you that we can cooperate to make sure the projects are being carried out," he told reporters after announcing his manifesto, here Thursday.
Among the issues in the manifesto are improvements to the traffic system, building of a public recreational area, upgrading of the wet market, education, housing and development programmes and the environment.
However, when asked on projects for the improvement of the traffic system, Ramkarpal did not respond to the question, instead Ng, who is the DAP by-election committee head of communications department, said he would explain to reporters later.
The DAP also announced that the party would hold a Mega Finale 'Ceramah' at Han Chiang High School hall at 8pm Friday with the speakers comprising Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) de factor leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang, DAP acting national chairman Tan Kok Wai and Penang PAS Deputy Commissioner Datuk Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa.
The Bukit Gelugor parliamentary seat fell vacant when Karpal Singh, who was also former DAP chairman, died in a road accident on April 17.
Ramkarpal is involved in a four-corner fight with Parti Cinta Malaysia (PCM) vice-president Datuk Huan Cheng Guan and two independents Abu Backer Sidek Mohammad Zan and Mohamed Nabi Bux Mohd Nabi Abdul Sathar.
