Pas President Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang has urged party members to reject ‘modern politics’ that neglect the teachings of Al-Quran and Sunnah.
He said, there have been some political parties attempting to oppose to any agenda to uphold the teachings of Islam in the country.
“They challenge each other, whoever managed to prove their objections of the syiar will be the talk of the town these days,” said Abdul Hadi.
He also stressed that if this continues, it will be the biggest threat and disrupt the harmony and the freedom to practice one’s religion in a diverse multi-ethnic society especially in Malaysia where Islam is the main religion.
Abdul Hadi said Pas also realised the political reality in the country.
“The enemies of Islam with the divide-and-rule agenda in Malaysia and misappropriation of knowledge plot towards Islam.
“Some Muslims are just overly-excited over this agenda that they failed to realise that they had inadvertently became the pawn on a chess board, and had forgotten that Muslims in the present day want to adopt Islam as a lifestyle,” said Abdul Hadi in his opening speech at the 63rd Pas Muktamar here today.
He also said that Pas is not against any race or religion in the country but chauvinist and attitude must be avoided to ensure harmony in the country.
