UMNO members must return to the three principles of 'Bersatu, Bersetia, Berkhidmat' (Unity, Loyalty and To Serve) struggle to ensure continuity of the party unity to win big in the coming 14th General Election.
Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said 'Bersatu, Bersetia, Berkhidmat' was not merely the party's slogan but it was an aspiration that carried much bigger meaning and became the foundation of UMNO strength.
"Staying united and in agreement in the struggle will make us strong, but when we are weak we will be defeated. Thus, we must be loyal to the party and the leader in all circumstances, and not betray the party or become enemies when we lose our position.
"We, in Sabah, serve the people at all times without waiting for the election. We always go down to the ground before, during and after the election because we are not seasonal leaders and party," he said.
Musa said this in his speech at the opening ceremony of the Three UMNO Zones (Papar, Kimanis and Beaufort) Delegates Conference which was officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in Bongawan near here Saturday.
Also present were Kimanis UMNO division chief Datuk Seri Anifah Aman who is also foreign minister; Papar UMNO division chief Datuk Abdul Rahim Ismail and Beaufort UMNO division chief Datuk Isnin Aliasni.
Musa, who is also state UMNO liaison committee chairman, said UMNO members at all levels should realise the mandate given to the people was not a privilege but a big responsibility and trust that must be carried out to provide the best service for the well-being of the people.
He also said that UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties must move as a team to further strengthen the government and ensure a stable government.
Meanwhile in Kota Kinabalu, Sepanggar Wanita UMNO gave its full support to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's leadership as UMNO president and Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman.
Its chief, Datuk Jainab Ahmad Ayid said the unwavering support meant that Najib would continue to lead the country as prime minister.
"We are also giving full support to Datuk Seri Musa Aman as Sabah chief minister and Sabah UMNO Liaison Committee chairman, as well as Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil as Wanita UMNO chief," she said at the Sepanggar Wanita UMNO delegates conference which was officiated by UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman here yesterday.
"The opposition politicians come and go like mushrooms. They paint a negative image of the government just because of the disagreement and the fact that they cannot accept the current leadership...as such, they deliberately spread baseless allegations.
"So, I remind all Sepanggar Wanita UMNO delegates not to be one of them," she added.
