A decision will be made tomorrow by the Registrar of Societies (RoS) on the MIC status of MIC presidential election which is to be held by the supporters of Datuk Seri Dr. S. Subramaniam.

MIC strategic director K. Ramalingam said this was announced by RoS Assistant Director Rosliza Mahidi during a meeting held with several representatives who supported Datuk Seri G.Palanivel.

According to him, Rosliza also said that RoS will go through more than 1,500 complaints made in respect to the election.

“We were unable to meet the Director or Deputy Director today. The Assistant Director however accepted our complaint and said that a decision would be made at 3pm tomorrow.

“We have been requested to attend a meeting with RoS officers tomorrow at 3pm,” said Ramalingam when contacted by Astro AWANI, today.

He said more than 100 MIC branch chairman and several Central Working Committee (CWC) members will be at the RoS office to get detailed information on the nomination process for the post of MIC president to be held by Subramaniam’s camp on Friday.

"We have protested the nomination by submitting complaints on the abuse of power during the branch nomination process held by Subramaniam’s camp.

“To dismiss Friday’s nomination, we have informed RoS on the abuse of power made by the 2009 interim committee established by Subramaniam. We have also asked for the postponement to be made by the RoS pending investigations on the complaints made,” said Ramalingam.

Palanivel's supporters who arrived at the RoS office in Putrajaya, around 2.30 pm, however failed to meet its Director, Datuk Mohammad Razin Abdullah.
