RoS gives MIC 120 days to iron out issues, re-election dates extended

The Registrar of Societies (RoS) has given MIC between 60 to 120 days to iron out its election issues, party vice-president Datuk M. Saravanan.
After a meeting with the RoS today, Saravanan has also urged the party leadership to call for an emergency meeting to discuss the matter.
The party was notified by the Ros on Dec 5 to hold a re-election for the vice-president and central working committee (CWC) seats as well as some divisional elections within 90 days.
Prior to this, Palanivel had reportedly said that he will seek further explanation from RoS with regards to the its directive to hold the re-elections.
Palanivel was quoted as saying that he will hold a meeting with Home Minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to discuss the party's issues.
