Sacked Gopeng Wanita UMNO division chief Datuk Hamidah Osman said her expulsion from the party is not fair.
She also claimed that the decision to expel her might have not come from the party’s disciplinary committee.
Referring to herself as the black sheep in the party, Hamidah said the party’s disciplinary committee did not issue any letter to her on her expulsion.
“I received a letter in May asking for an explanation for bringing Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad but since I was expelled on Tuesday, I did not receive any letter. So, I think this is unfair,” she told reporters today.
She said according to the procedure, the disciplinary committee should have called her to explain.
“But this did not happen. So, I think my expulsion was not ordered by the committee,” she said.
“I was made to understand that the committee did not make this decision. It is not clear. The committee would not decide on something like this without calling me to explain,” she added.
Asked on her next course of action, Hamidah vowed not to stay quiet.
She added that she has other plans which involve other UMNO members.
“My expulsion does not mean the end of my struggle,” she said.
At the event, Hamidah also called on UMNO president Datuk Seri Najib Razak not to put the party at stake.
“Sir, please don’t burn the country. If we burn, you burn with us,” she said.
