EC chairman Datuk Seri Mohd Hashim Abdullah said if there are any parties who are not satisfied with the ongoing campaigns, they can lodge an official report.
“I don’t want to comment. This campaign, if not satisfied, there are procedures,” he said at a press conference here today.
He said so when asked to comment if the allocation announced by BN when campaigning is against the EC Act.
He said, EC’s responsibility is to ensure that the election goes on without any glitch.
“This campaigning season, the EC’s duty is to carry out the election smoothly and also to ensure items like ballot papers, umbrellas and other items are sufficient.
"For those who are campaigning, they have their own respective manifestos. If EC interferes in the campaign, we will no longer be the EC,” he said.
During the campaign period, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and the Sarawak state government have announced a number of allocations for the development of the state.
Commenting on EC’s preparation to face the election, Mohd Hashim said it is was 100 per cent ready for the polling day on Saturday.
A total of 1,138, 650 registered voters are eligible to vote.
